Elisabeth groaned and gripped the edge of the sofa, frustrated and unsure of what she should do. She closed her eyes to think, to clear her head and think rationally without Nick's cute looks or puppy eyes or sorrowful tone to distract her.

We have to think of some sensible agreement, because while I recognize Alexandra has no home of her own, that is clearly not the sole reasoning behind you wanting her here." Lis moved her eyes back to Nick, scooting her body to a half-turned position. "What if we settled on a date. For example, she has two months and during that time, we can find proper lodging for her. I won't cast her off to anyone, mind you, and I would want everyone's input. And of course, we'll have to lay down some rules. Very strict rules and so help me, if either of you break my trust, there will be consequences. Does that sound agreeable?"
