Hearing the reply in his mind, rather than outloud, caused Skyfire to pause for a moment. His expression was one of intrigue, however, rather that too much surprise when he looked back to Mantis. His thought was a simple: Amazing...
It was a little unsettling, he supposed, knowing that everything he was thinking was splayed out for the man to know. But it was also so very interesting that his scientific mind seemed to ignore that fact.
And, of course, now that he knew he could simply think something and Mantis would hear it, he didn't see much need in speaking. Instead he simply centered his thoughts on his next question and pointedly ignored the multitude of others that were just waiting to be asked when the moment presented itself.
Or didn't. With Skyfire, waiting for the right time to ask a question was sometimes overlooked in order to seek the knowledge while the urge was fresh.
Do you know how the mask works?
Again, not necessarily the most pressing of questions, but curious ones that he was interested in, at the moment.
Out loud, after a brief pause, he called, "Starscream, love, we really should be going." Because it was as he was waiting for Mantis' reply that he'd managed to remember - in between all of the questions he was trying not to ask, of course - that he'd said an Autobot was going to return with Mikaela. While Skyfire would love nothing more than to see someone else from Cybertron, again, he wasn't about to risk Starscream's own well-being because of that desire.
