It was one thing to know your Dad (and the most of your family for that matter) was famous where you were from. It was another thing entirely to be thrust into a world where he was probably even more famous and supposedly fictional. Which Lily assumed made her as such as well. Fictional. Well she felt pretty bloody real. She imagined that was really all that mattered right? How you felt. She felt real therefore she was? Merlin this place made her head hurt. Though it was still better than Hogwarts at the moment, being that it was her OWL year. She could handle being fictional much more over that.
Lily figured though that she might as well see what all the fuss was about. And there was also the burning curiousity as to what her parents were like at that age. Sure they had told her stories, her Grandparents had told her things, but it wasn't the same. So Lily found herself in a bookstore, a big one that didn't mind if you sat there all day and read. She had purchased a chai latte from the adjoining coffee shop, nearly throwing a fit when the teller told her the price of said drink. She found the children's literature section and stared at the book spines staring back at her. Harry Potter. Lily set her cup down, because apparently these muggles would flip if they saw her float a stack of books over to herself, and pulled the six books from the shelves stacking them in her arms. The redhead found herself a comfy looking bean bag chair and pulled the first book off the stack and began to read.
