Zuko, in Katara's opinion, had been acting... well, weird, for the entire meeting with the others. She couldn't quite put her finger on exactly what seemed to off about him, but by the time the meeting was over, she knew that something wasn't right. He wasn't himself, or what version of him that she'd gotten to know during their time at the Hyperion, and he also wasn't the same Zuko that had stalked them across most of their world. He was completely different than both of those versions and she wasn't sure she liked this side of him.
Or, at least, she didn't know this side of him. And that, she thought, was something that needed to change.
The simple fact was, no matter how hard she tried to do otherwise, Katara had long since appointed herself the 'mother' of the group. She was the one who cooked for them, helped make sure their clothes were clean, and tried to be the voice of reason when no one else wanted to. So, if Zuko really wanted to be a part of their group, he was going to have to get used to her meddling. Especially when it came to things that might affect the group as a whole.
His behavior, she felt, fell well within that category.
And so Katara decided to have a talk with him. She followed wordlessly behind him as he left the rhino pen. She wasn't sure where he was going - since the exit seemed to be in the opposite direction - but she followed him nonetheless. Eventually, when he was nearing the bird exhibit (a fact she knew based on both the signs as well as the squawking of the animals as they became disturbed by the presence of humans), she decided enough was enough. Even his stride was different than usual. Clearly, something was wrong, and she was determined to find out what it was.
"Zuko, where are you going?" Her voice was soft, curious, yet there was an underlying steel behind it that said she wasn't going to be ignored. There was still enough distance between them, however, that she hoped he wouldn't feel too cornered by her presence. She didn't want to startle him. She wanted, if possible, to help him.
