Connor was slowly getting used to the fact Stephen wasn't around anymore, in truth he was almost glad of the extra work, the extra responisibilty because it meant he didn't have as much time with Abby, which meant he never had to bring up the subject of what he'd told her a month ago.
This was just another normal day for him really, running around London to catch prehistoric creatures in order to stop them from eating perfectly innocent shoppers. Today he was acting as bait, which was just lovely. "You know I'd not sure this is best idea we've ever had," he protested, as he glanced at the anomaly detector to make sure the signal was still strong and he wasn't about to get stuck God knows when.
"Have I told you lately how very brave you are, Con?" Abby asked, giving him a helpful push in the right direction.
"Hey I'm brave! I'm just thinking of you, if I get eatten by a t-rex who's gonna pay my half of the rent?"
Shaking her head she laughed and gave him a quick hug. "You won't even be in their long enough to even see a t-rex. Look here it comes. I'm out of here, good luck Connor."
Frowning he started to run towards the shimmering anomaly. It was times like this he did miss Stephen, this was much more his area of expertise than his. Connor was not built to be a hero, he was built to be a genius, genei didn't run!
He was breathing heavily when he stopped running, now on the other side. Which was when he realised this was most definitely not any kind of prehistoric England. The anomaly was still there, so he turned round, trying to go back through only this time it didn't work as it should have. He merely stepped through it as if it wasn't even there. "Oh this cannot be good," he muttered frowning to himself and he stepped back further into the alley he'd appeared in. "Cutter's gonna kill me for this," he added, striding out of the alley and on to a busy street. Yes this was definitely not where he was supposed to be, and he was fairly sure the fairly big anomaly detector he was carrying wasn't exactly going to help him fit in as a tourist.
"Right what do I do?" he asked himself. "Could be worse I s'ppose. Least the raptor didn't come through, um probably didn't come through." Well he couldn't hear sreaming at least so it was pretty safe bet.
