..... To say he was nervous was a bit of an understatement. Honestly, Obi-Wan hadn't expected that he would ever see Anakin again. Especially under conditions such as these. And, were Obi-Wan asked to make a guess, he wouldn't have hesitated in saying that his being invited over to the Skywalker residence was all Padmé's idea. But that alone was reason for him to accept the invitation. He couldn't tactfully say no to Padmé. He considered her to be a friend, someone whom he thought he could go to should he need help or assistance. And he hoped that she felt the same way. As for Anakin? Well, Obi-Wan only hoped that the two of them could remain on some semblance of good terms for the brief time they would be together. It would be a pity if such a happy occasion were to be ruined by two men who couldn't resolve their past differences.
Obi-Wan had yet to adjust himself to the dress code of the city, so when he arrived at the front door of the penthouse, he was in his full Jedi attire. Cloak, robe, obi. He debated leaving his lightsaber at the Hyperion as a show of good faith to Anakin, but the missing weight of it on his hips left him feeling most awkward. As though he were without an intricate part of his being. He would simply remove it upon entrance should Anakin and Padmé request it.
He took a deep breath to calm his mind and spirit. He could sense that they already knew he was here, but he lingered outside a moment to collect himself. He wasn't sure how he was supposed to be feeling. He was both happy and sad at the same time. Happy for this was a joyous occasion. Sad because he knew that the tension between himself and his former Padawan would be difficult to bear. And with recent events making Obi-Wan feel lost in this new world he'd been forced into, he worried that things would not go as smoothly as he hoped.
But he would try and put on an optimistic face and hope for the best. He looked upward as though checking that the Force was watching out for them on this one. Don't fail me now. He had a feeling they might need it.
