They'd all disappeared. They'd left him by himself to fight off the Fire Nation. Him, the one who couldn't bend. Sure, he had his pretty much kick-ass sword, but that didn't really help him when being tossed in the air by Dai Li agents' eartbending or being set on fire by Zuko's creepy ass sister. Not that he wouldn't mind taking on Azula again. He would've severely hurt her that day in those underground chambers if Toph and Aang hadn't been there, if they hadn't had other matters to attend to. He would kill her if she'd harmed Suki.
Well, he'd kill her anyway, but that only made him want to kill her more. Make her deader than dead. Jump around on top of her grave while smiting whatever could possibly exist of her spirit (though he severely doubted she had much of one to pass on to anywhere good, at least). Somehow, Sokka saw her being given an earthbender's resting place to be more fitting than a firebenders. Almost as if he felt she didn't deserve to be burned like her people's traditions demanded. He'd let Toph smash her into the ground herself.
That is, if Toph were here.
First it had been Katara, then Aang, then Toph. Well, technically Zuko had vanished first, but no one really felt concerned by that. They just kinda figured he needed time to himself or something. Not that Sokka really cared. Though, now he was stuck with just Haru, Teo, and the Duke. And as amusing as it was to poke fun at Haru for his moustache - or 'goatee,' as the earthbender kept insisting - it was starting to grow old.
He sighed, and bowed his head, closing his eyes for a moment as he inwardly mused on just how much the current situation sucked. And it did. A lot. Sucked some serious hog-monkey balls. For all he knew, Aang was dead and Katara, Toph, and...well, there was no telling where Mr. I-Swear-I've-Changed was--his sister and Toph could be rotting away in some prison. Maybe the same prison as Suki.
With a groan, Sokka sat straight once again, but when he opened his eyes, he found that suddenly, he wasn't at the Western Air Temple anymore. No, he was somewhere else. And there was something coming towards him.
The warrior screamed, scrabbled to his feet, and jumped out of the way.
"STUPID KID, STOP PLAYIN' IN THE STREET!" A person from within the...thing shouted at him from an opening in the side.
"Not a kid!" Sokka shouted back at it, whiling around on the street to face a cart with some sort of...was that...food? Okay, he hadn't a clue as to where he was. But the food smelled good. And at the moment, that was all he cared about. Finally, something besides Haru's awful attempts at cooking.
