The shadow-porting was quicker than he'd expected, almost instant. He was impressed and it showed on his face as he pulled her closer, kissing just behind her ear.
"Very convenient."
He laughed, somewhat ruefully, and let his head drop against her shoulder.
"No, there's no one. My wife and I are separated because it's against her religion to actually divorce. Not against her religion to have an affair throughout most of our marriage though." He paused, before forcing any bitterness out. "And she's not here anyway. Even if she was...." He trailed off, remembering the way she'd pulled away from him to hug Lee Adama. "We're very done," he concluded firmly. "Completely. I'm all single."
He wrapped his arms more firmly around her, running kisses along her shoulder.
"How about you? Am I gonna have to be on the run from anyone in the morning?"
