Miles away, deep inside of the Daily Press, Clark saw something stir inside of the briefcase propped onto his desk and he turned his head to look at it. Brow furrowing slightly, he took hold of the communicator that was distributed amongst the Justice League members and peered down at it. Then he hastily shoved it back into his briefcase, rose from his chair, and quickly started walking toward the nearest exit. A few people gave him an odd sort of look as he moved, and Clark even ignored someone as they attempted to approach him about an article. Instead of acknowledging anyone around him, he quickly ducked out of sight, pushed his way up the stairs to the roof, and by the time he managed to get through the door that led to the exterior area, he was already fully decked out in his suit, leaving the reporter persona far behind him.
Feet pressed down against the gravel ridden surface below him, Superman kicked off into the air and, as a sonic boom erupted from behind him, he sped off toward the location in which he knew one of his friends were in need of assistance.
It didn't take him very long to find Kara, facing off the one person that he had dreaded encountering. Shooting through the air, he placed his fists in front of him and hurled himself at Prime with every ounce of force he had inside of him, hoping to knock him away from Kara before he was able to actually land the blow that he was throwing toward her.
