Blinking again, startlement warring with embarrassed gratefulness, Starscream took the offered clothing, glancing back up at Skyfire. Calmer now thanks to his bond-mate (he'd always, always been able to temper Starscream's fluctuating moods), he offered a delicate smile. "Sleep is the human recharge," he explained quietly, trying to remember all the things the three children had explained to him about being human---Primus, he'd never imagined that he'd need the knowledge. When he saw them again, he'd have to thank them. "It's usually performed during the night cycle, and lasts on average from six to eight hours." He paused, glancing at Mikaela for confirmation.
Humans also wore clothing to shield their bodies from the elements, and for modesty; they bathed; they reproduced sexually; they cut their hair and 'shaved' (a process that Rad and Carlos had both been very interested in). It all seemed very complicated, living as a human. He couldn't quite understand how they managed to learn it all in such a short amount of time. Seventy to eighty years was.. was nothing. Someone with a lifespan like Starscream or Skyfire couldn't really relate to living at such an accelerated rate.
What if they were to be human forever? What if.. they only had another fifty or sixty years together?
Still. He would take that fifty short years with Skyfire over an eternity without him any day.
"Where would you like for us to change?" he inquired once he realised that he'd trailed off, shaking himself mentally. "And.. sleep?" Her home was small; he couldn't imagine that she had room for two human males. But then, he supposed humans were also good at improvising; Alexis and the others had proven that more than once.
Oh. Humans ate, too, didn't they---not energon, but plant- and animal-life. It seemed like a disgusting process, but then.. all flesh-creatures did it, so it must have been an effective means of gaining nutrients. At the thought, Starscream couldn't help but smile, and had to hide it behind his fist. He'd been with Skyfire less than three hours and already he was thinking like he once had---and his beloved would no doubt be asking hundreds of questions and taking notes again as soon as he was settled. Skyfire, after all, was still very much a scientist.
"I should warn you, Mikaela," he added, mouth still curved in the amused expression he was trying to fight down, "Skyfire was built in the pursuit of science. I'm sure that he'll find this planet very fascinating, so you should prepare yourself for extensive questioning." His gaze flickered up to meet the other man's, crimson eyes wicked and teasing.
