Skyfire had to agree with Starscream in regards to the building. Perception really was extremely different in such a smaller form. Were he in his regular form, what looked to be such a looming expanse of a structure now would seem almost miniature in comparison to his own size and build. His frankly curious gaze went from the few windows that littered the front of the building to the large, metallic door beneath it. His brow furrowed in puzzlement, doubly so when Mikaela led them to another, smaller door on the side. Apparently, he reasoned as they climbed the stairs and stepped inside her small domain, she lived above something else entirely. Although what he couldn't say for certain and, while he wanted to ask, became preoccupied as Starscream undressed him.
The room was warmer than outside, and infinitely warmer than the frozen wasteland from which he'd just come. He was still chilled but the instant the sodden clothing was away from his torso he did feel at least a bit better. He flashed his bond-mate a grateful smile before turning a curious gaze to the apartment itself.
It wasn't very large - not even for a solitary human, really - but it had a certain... atmosphere to it that put him at ease. "Fascinating," he murmured, more to himself than the room in general, his mind already catagorizing everything new he wished to explore, the various odds and ends which were wholly unfamiliar and therefore intriguing for that fact alone. Even dull, every day items held an appeal to them, as he was in this state. He was processing things differently, in a way, without his constant data stream to keep him informed, and both looked forward to while also dreading learning to act in a scientific manner in this new, human body of his.
Mikaela's answer to Starscream's question seemed to be a little distant, although Skyfire was paying attention. He was simply finding the knick-knacks that littered the shelf to his immediate right to be of more interest at the moment.
"Not a problem," she answered, holding out her hand to take the clothing. Her attention flickered briefly to Skyfire, a bemused expression flickering across her face before she looked back to Starscream. "The dryer is downstairs. I may be able to find something else for him to wear, too. I'll be right back." And with the sodden jacket and shirt in her grasp, she headed to the door. She hesitated but once, glancing back at them as though she wanted to say something, then was out the door and heading back down the stairs they'd just finished climbing.
As the door swung closed behind her, Skyfire turned back to his bond-mate. Alone, if only for a moment, and in the relative warmth of a sheltered environment, he made the most of the moment and stepped closer to the man.
"All this time," he murmured softly, "and you still find ways to worry about me." The words were spoken in fondness rather than ridicule, the knowledge that Starscream hadn't changed that much warming him more than anything else possibly could. Lightly cupping the other man's cheek, he pressed a kiss to his lips and reveled, once more, in the sensations such simple contact created within him.
