The kissing was so utterly strange, so very different, that while part of Skyfire was of course enjoying the sensations, another part of his mind was taking note of the changes. He couldn't help it. He still was a scientist - very much one, in fact - and it hadn't felt as though it had been a billion years for him. Therefore he didn't feel the same desperate sort of need that Starscream felt to re-familiarize himself with the other man.
Still, lack of a desperate need didn't equal a lack of desire and he was somewhat baffled when Starscream pulled slightly away. He'd heard the clearing of the throat but hadn't recognized it for what it meant, not really. The explanation offered was confusing, as well, but he trusted his bond-mate to know such things.
So he didn't press the issue but instead gave a slight nod of his head and refrained from kissing him anymore in front of the human company. There would be time to be together soon, he was certain. For now, he was content to simply enjoy the time with him and study the strange, human form that Starscream had become.
He had opened his mouth to say something, to ask if perhaps his bond-mate had an inkling at the very least as to how they were human, when there was the sound of tires upon gravel and his head turned toward the window of the hotel in frank curiosity. A truck was pulling up with a human woman emerging from within.
Skyfire turned more fully toward the window, watching as she stepped from the truck, glanced around with what might almost pass as a wary expression, then headed toward the front door of the building they were in.
"Mikaela Banes, I presume," he murmured softly, noting the obvious differences between her form and Starscream's, or even the human male behind the desk. She seemed... softer, somehow. Smaller, as well. Her features, even from this distance, appeared to be more delicate.
Truly, these humans were a fascinating species and, already, he couldn't wait to learn as much as he possibly could. Although, he supposed, if the look on the female's face was any indication, she may not be the one to answer his questions. She did not bear the expression of someone who looked very pleased to be here.
