Skyfire's mind was still reeling at the news that his Starscream was now a soldier in a war that he'd never even heard of existing. A soldier. It was wrong. Unthinkable. Unnatural. Starscream was a scientist. He was built to be a scientist. How could he have become something else? Even in a hundred billion years, Skyfire couldn't imagine it being possible.
Yet, apparently, it was.
The way he spoke to the human, also, confused him. Granted his bond-mate wasn't known for being overly gentle, save with perhaps him, but this sort of un-earned aggression wasn't like him either. Especially toward someone who was attempting to help them. Still, things changed over time and, as much as he hated to admit it, clearly Starscream had changed right along with them.
Skyfire stared into the cup of warm water, fingers aching as the heat from the ceramic mug began to warm his hands from what felt like the inside-out. It didn't matter, he ultimately decided. They were still Bonded and nothing - not time, not a war, not anything - would ever change that.
A few sips of the bland drink and he raised his gaze to the other man's. Slowly he stood, unsteadily standing upright at first, then with a little more grace as he found his much lower and lighter center of gravity. A few steps in one direction, then a simple turn and back to the chair. It was enough to make his legs start to ache as well, yet he continued. That was the most movement he was going to manage, especially in this awkward body.
"Who is Mikaela Banes?" he questioned on his second go-round, unable to keep the frank curiosity from his tone. He also noted that his voice didn't seem to be trembling quite as much as before. He was still unimaginably cold, but he was getting better. He paused, briefly, and took another drink of the water. He wanted to also ask about the war but waited. There would be time for that, later.
