Sam glanced over at Dean and gave him a nod of acknowledgment before he forced himself to look back at the demon who, in the same moment that Sam had turned to look at his brother, had sent a sharp blow toward Jo's face. Stupid, stupid, stupid move, Sam! He should have been more focused on the demon. Anger flared up inside of him, but it subsided somewhat when Jo reacted with a punch of her own.
Kickass, Jo, Sam thought to himself as he flung a bit more of the holy water toward the demon a half second after Jo had responded with her own attack. Then he lunged forward and slammed the demon back against the wall. Sam knew that it was risky, using his abilities while Dean happened to be nearby, but he knew that if he kept his hands on the demon's shoulders and made it look like he was holding him against the wall, Dean wouldn't think a thing. In reality? Sam was using his mind to keep the demon in place, knowing that the creature was much stronger than he himself could have been on a physical level.
