WHO: Claire Bennet (future), Angela Petrelli WHERE: the Hyperion; specifically, the stairwell and then wherever Angela takes them WHEN: during the events of this, so backdated WHAT: An unexpected moment of bonding. RATING: TBD STATUS: thread; in-progress
There were certain things Claire had believed she would never see happen or would be safe from ever have happening again, so long as she was in Los Angeles. Or at least tried to believe would never happen again. Two of them had just happened. All she had been attempting to do was go back downstairs to the front desk, her usual job now, when the alarms had begun to sound. She'd moved down to asses the danger and then nearly hit the stairs at the slam of her stomach into the ground. The most significant of what she had just witnessed was that Peter would never throw Gabriel into a wall, as Peter would know the difference better than anyone. The most alarming was that Claire had just seen Gabriel in his room a few moments ago as she walked past with her usual awkward-ish wave.
That meant the hotel had just locked down with Sylar inside.
The alarms made it difficult to hear anything, but there wasn't much she wanted to hear at this point. This wasn't a bad guy with a gun or withstandable superpowers that she could take on and live – eventually – to tell about it, this was the man who killed those with abilities, including members of her family, and was capable of killing her because of the way he did it. And this was a fear without knowing the fact that, by this point in her own timeline, she had been murdered by the man. Only the knowledge he had once tried.
There were some things even someone who had lived five years of hell couldn't face directly.
She turned on her heel, moved up the last step and ran straight into Angela.
