Gabriel tightened his grip on Peter, making sure that he stayed upright as they crossed over to the kitchenette. As soon as they were close enough to one of the chairs, Gabriel helped Peter sit before moving over to the cabinets and pulling down the beans in order to fix a pot of coffee.
"Wasn't exactly what I was expecting," Gabriel said quietly as he poured out the beans into the grinder and started it up. The noise was a good distraction from what had just happened, and it wasn't long afterwards that the smell of the coffee was filling the kitchen. Filling two mugs, Gabriel pushed the mug of pure black coffee towards Peter as he moved to get down the sugar and pull out the cream for himself.
"Of course, I sort of expected that if I see him, my head wouldn't remain attached to my body for long."
