The alarms blaring had startled Gabriel, and he had fished his phone out of his pocket in order to check the alert only to roll his eyes and turn it off, stuffing it back into his pockets. Clearly it was just some sort of malfunction. He couldn't be in the hotel twice. He couldn't think exactly what might have caused it, but when the alarm bells stopped not long after he finished packing up his things in order to go downstairs and check, he figured that Peter had already gone to make sure what it was.
That didn't give him any reason to stay in his room, though. The system was his responsibility and as much as Peter could handle it, Peter had more than enough to deal with right now. Slipping out of his room, Gabriel headed down the hall turning towards the stairs and pausing automatically on the landing as his eyes came to rest on a scene downstairs that was... Well, it wasn't... right by any means. Blinking a few times, Gabriel slipped his glasses off, rubbing them on the tail of his shirt before putting them back on his face.
