WHO: Mary Jane & [OPEN] WHAT: A mugging. WHEN: Late afternoon. WHERE: Streets. RATING: PG-13. STATUS: Incomplete.
It wasn't even dark out, and yet as Mary Jane made her way back to the Hyperion, she was covered in bruises and bleeding from various places along her body. Her dress was torn along the bottom, and one of the heels of her shoes was broken. Tears streamed down her face, smearing her makeup all along her cheeks and underneath her eyes.
It hadn't been a vampire or a demon that attacked her. It was just a regular human being who was taking advantage of the fact that more severe crimes were being committed, figuring he could easily get away with something as slight as a mugging. But Mary Jane had attempted to fight back, and it got her into even more trouble. What could've been solved by handing over her purse was escalated into a full-fledged attack when she refused, and the burly, half-drunk man had pushed her roughly against a nearby wall, slapped her face numerous times and threatened her with a knife before simply taking what he wanted from her and running off into the back streets and alleyways that linked Los Angeles together.
She had only been a few blocks away from home, and the sun was still shining. If she could still be in danger in such a situation, then how much hope was really left for anyone anymore?
