Where: At JL headquarters, in the Bradbury building
When: 10 o'clock p.m.
Rating/Status: PG, in progress
The top floor of the Bradbury building had been surprisingly easy to aquire, as Diana thought it might. After all, it was Bruce who had taught her the technique, albeit obliquely. As things and people tended to 'disappear' in this world as quickly as they appeared, she stepped into the vacuum Bruce himself created. He had owned the rights to the top two floors...now she did, legally. A business transaction happened much faster when the other party was suddenly a blank space in the document.
And had it not been legal, she wouldn't have done it, Diana reflected. A legacy of her own, one she clung to as the only thing she had left in this world. Her people were gone, her mission unreachable when she couldn't leave Los Angeles...even the gathering tonight, the Justice League, was not of her time or place. It belonged to them, the ones of this Earth. But a safe haven she could provide, to those who would bear the torch after she was done.
The rooms were to her liking, although nothing like the Watchtower. Here, it was spacious but comfortable, with no stiff conference table. That led to too many decisions over who earned which spot. Couches and chairs overlooked the polarized windows, the city bustling five flights below. The one thing she'd created among the antiquated furnishings was a paneled wall of computer systems. As yet they weren't programmed; she'd only purchased them. That job would be left to the Oracles.
Sighing almost to herself, Diana sank down into one solitary chair by the largest window. Perhaps this wasn't her Justice League, but she would make sure their enemies did not do to them what they'd done to her teammates.
