It was absolute insanity. All of it. His unlikely amnesia, her lack of calling for help...just...insanity.
Sylar had never been this convincing before, but then again, he'd never actually wasted time like this. Had never stalled in his desire to obliterate her and steal her power. Either he had taken a different approach to the situation or something really, really weird was going on. Had Elle's shock somehow fried his memories? Could such a thing be possible?
For whatever stupid reason, Claire stopped moving too. She tried to slow her breathing, to make sense of what was happening here. If Sylar hadn't been behind this set-up, then who had and did it have anything to do with meeting a not-all-there Sylar? Where was Peter when she needed his mind-reading?? She could test this. She could see if Sylar really was jerking her chain or...if he had suddendly lost the monster.
Though he could have closed the distance between them in minutes, though he could have sent the balance beam flying into the air and pinning her down, he hadn't down anything with his powers but save her. The complete opposite of everything he had ever done to her before. Hoping that she wasn't a complete moron in doing so, Claire gingerly walked over to Sylar. Within reaching distance (not that his decapitating methods needed a close proximity. Her hands clutched in fists, she spoke, slowly asking. "You...really don't know who we are?"
