WHO: Temperance Brennan and Seeley Booth
WHAT: Brennan’s arrival and much confusion.
WHEN: Afternoon
WHERE: Random coffee shop
RATING: TBA
STATUS: Incomplete
Temperance frowned deeply as she looked down at the coffee cupped between her hands; she had no recollection whatsoever of ordering it and considering the cup was warm against her skin it hadn’t long been placed there. She moved one of her hands up to feel her head, she didn’t feel any lumps nor did she feel dizzy or have the other signs of concussion, so what was going on?
The question remained with her as movement from the other side of the room caught her attention, her eyes narrowed suspiciously at the woman behind the counter. Brennan got up from her chair and walked over, abandoning the coffee she had apparently ordered without a second glance. “Excuse me.” She was trying to be polite but as always it didn’t come out that way, her tone was firm and suspicious. “How long have I been in here for?” She thought it was a pretty safe question to ask and not at all unusual but the woman didn’t think so judging by the confused look she gave. Brennan frowned again as the woman simply pointed at the small clock on the wall with a shrug and walked off to serve another customer, leaving her with the same burning questions as before. “Not at all helpful.”
It wouldn’t have been the first time she had awoken and ended up someplace else without remembering, though the last time that had happened she had been set up to look like she had murdered someone. She hoped that didn’t happen this time, one bad experience like that was more than enough. But something must have happened, the last thing she remembered was being at the Jeffersonian trying to identify how old the bones of another Jane Doe were but everything after that was..gone. Brennan looked around the small coffee shop in confusion, her eyes finally resting on a long forgotten newspaper and she headed over, picking it up and glancing at the date first. If it were possible her face contorted with more confusion, what?
"I don't understand." She muttered as she scanned the page further, how..that couldn't be right. "Is this recent?" Brennan asked the room, holding up the newspaper and looking around. "This can't be right, the dates are all wrong."
