"I know," Mary Jane replied with a frown. She didn't think it needed to be said, but it was more than frightening what was happening to the city of Los Angeles. It was odd to say she remembered the days when muggers and gangs were really the only things to worry about in a big city. Now there was every kind of villain under the sun.
Glancing up at Clark as they began to walk, Mary Jane offered him another small smile. She'd been trying to be more social lately, and this kind of thing was just what everyone needed once in a while. "I was in New York," she replied. "Working on an acting career in the theatre." She didn't mention the troubles she'd been having with that, because she was hoping to pick up where she'd left off here in some manner. "I'm sure you know my boyfriend, Peter Parker. He's at the Hyperion, too."
