Who: Wonder Woman and OPEN (she'll be using the JL communicators too)
What: Returning from her mission (she left right after "The Gentlemen" were defeated)
Where: Top of the Baxter Building, downtown
When: Late night
Rating/Status: PG (she's not much for swearing) and In progress
Even with all her will bent on slowing herself down, Diana still landed atop the Baxter Building with enough force to gouge a streak of cement and tar before she tumbled to a halt. Taking long, slow breaths, she simply lay there, her mind contemplating the possibilities of that being noticed. The building had once been owned by Bruce Wayne, except that now he no longer existed in this world. Yet little of it had changed; there was no rooftop security, a product of his wanting a concealed approach. Apparently, Diana thought as a few minutes passed by uneventful, no one had yet corrected that.
Slowly, surely, her body returned to normal, and Diana's eyes closed in deep relief. She'd left with the sole purpose of discovering what else in this earth (Earth-12, maybe? There was still nothing conclusive) could yield a clue to it's nature. The only superpowered individuals present were concentrated in Los Angeles, and they were all from other Earths. She found the same overseas.
The trouble began when she attempted to land on an island near her now-mythical home of Themyscira. She was a child made of magickal clay, and simply touching the land started to....unravel that magic. Panicked, she'd flown with as much speed as she could to the Greek mainland, and onward, but it didn't abate until she reached the North American border. And now, here, inside this version of Los Angeles, it disappeared, leaving her as she was before.
It was clear, then. She simply didn't exist here, in any form, and this reality could and would erase her to keep itself intact. What might happen to the Kryptonians if they stayed to long from the city? And the others...well, not all their powers were something this Earth couldn't accept; they could be immune. But in regards to her, the planet certainly didn't appreciate a piece of itself moving about in the form of a woman.
It didn't take long for everything to reassert itself, and Diana finally rose, shaking the rubble from her hair. There was no way to disguise the path she'd left in her unstable landing, but the roof was in poor repair as it was; no doubt the owners would chalk it up to something less...impossible. Dismissing that from her mind, she pressed the communicator in her earring to activate it. It hadn't worked at all past the limits of Los Angeles, but perhaps that was due to the nature of the city.
Her voice sounded much more strained than she expected as she spoke into the receiver, "Diana to JL...do you read me?"
