Kathryn now knew better than to hang around outdoors once the sun went down. Never in her life had she ever had a curfew, even when she was younger and had to abide by her parents' rules. Actually, she didn't have to abide by them, but they were still in place, and therefore, they still counted in a roundabout way. But then again, the after-dark activities here in L.A. weren't quite the same ones as back home in New York. She didn't have to worry about demons or vampires. It was really starting to get on her nerves.
She'd been at a bar having a few drinks and chatting up a local bachelor or two, but now that it was getting dark out, she needed to get back home. She could've gone with one of the guys she'd met, but they honestly didn't hold her interest or her hormones enough, so she left them behind.
Walking along, she kept an eye out for anyone that looked suspicious, even though she knew it was pointless. Sam hadn't looked exactly threatening, either.
