Clark glanced up at the sound of a voice, papers clumsily stacked in his arms as he did so. He offered the woman a sheepish sort of smile and said, "Well, he seemed like he was in a hurry. Maybe he didn't realize that he ran into me." He looked at her for a moment, brow furrowing slightly as he tried to place where he might have seen her before. Then he leaned back over and started to pick up the remaining sheets of paper.
Once they were good and free from the ground, Clark attempted to straighten them up in a neater pile. While he was busy with the task, he said, "Thank you. If I don't read all of these my new boss won't be happy."
