This place and the people in this coffee shop were crazy, it was official. Claire had done what the woman suggested, however, taking a coffee and a computer – grateful she at least had her tips on her – to find answers. The multiple messages in response to her own post confused her, elated her and terrified her all at once. She was in the past and people knew her real name, both people from her own time who knew things about her and she recognized from things in the news and someone she thought she would never see again. Sylar. And none of it made any sense at all.
But above all that, Peter was here in this place and he was coming to get her. At first, she'd thought it was some trick, some attempt to draw her out. She still wasn't entirely convinced others weren't a trick, but Peter – he'd known things only he could know. This time, she wasn't letting him leave again, not for all the good or bad reasons in the world. Not again.
Halfway through a response to someone, she heard him call to her. It was the wrong name, despite having heard the name enough in her most recent 'new life' for her to be familiar to it. It was always the wrong name, because she would never stop being Claire. Said by a voice she hadn't heard in person in five years, it was just that much more wrong.
But she didn't care. He'd been assumed dead by most of the world for a year now and even if she hadn't believed it – couldn't believe it – that didn't change she hadn't seen him since the day he'd found her in hiding and then she'd lost him again.
Abandoning the computer, she turned even as she left her seat, finding him standing right there only yards away.
