WHO: Cordelia, Kathy, and Phantom Dennis
WHAT: Moving in.
WHEN: Mid-afternoon
WHERE: Cordelia's apartment
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Although Cordelia was still quite upset over everything that had transpired at the Hyperion, she was doing her best not to let it show around Kathy. The girl had been through so much that she was pretty sure anything else traumatic might very well send her well over that slippery slope of mental health into the dark depths of insanity. So rather than allow herself to be plagued by the dark thoughts about those who had, in her mind, taken over an organization she'd help build from the ground up, Cordelia instead kept a smile on her face as she led the girl down the hallway and to the door of the apartment where they were now going to be staying.
"Now, just remember what I said," she stated brightly, as she gently ruffled Kathy's hair with an almost motherly smile, "Phantom Dennis isn't going to hurt you. He's a good kind of ghost, and he's a friend of mine. As for Doctor House..." She trailed off, not wanting to necessarily lie to the girl, but also not wanting to really give her opinion of the man who had drugged her in order to perform who-knew-what sort of medical tests on her unconscious, and unwilling, person.
"Well, he's a really good doctor, so if either of us get sick at least we'll have someone around who can take care of us, right?" Yeah, that sounded a little lame even to her, but Cordelia wasn't sure what else to really say. So instead she busied herself with opening the door to the apartment, picked up both hers and Kathy's suitcases, and stepped inside with a tilt of her head for the girl to follow.
"Dennis!" she called out as soon as they were past the threshold, smiling despite her not exactly happy thoughts at the moment. "I'm home! And I've brought someone with me, too. I want you to meet Kathy."
The lights flickered once in response before the suitcases were abruptly removed from her hands and levitated by an unseen force across the living room and into Cordelia's bedroom. A second later a gust of wind fluffed her hair and this time, when she smiled, it was genuine. "I've missed you too." Her attention then went to Kathy.
"See?" she stated. "He's a nice ghostly kind of guy... and pretty handy with the housework, too, if I do say so myself."
