He was supposed to be dead, she watched it with her own eyes. Blade stabbed him with her arrow, it supposedly killed all the vampi.. of course they weren't dead either. Why had she been so naive as to think he was gone as well? Which put her in a state of panic, maybe that was why King hadn't been messaging her. She started pacing the floor rapidly, her breathing a little erratic. Maybe Drake found him and he was dead, now he was there to finish her off.
The thought was crippling. But the weight of it alone made it hard for her to breath. Finding Sommerfield the way she had was one thing. But King being gone, was so much worse. Abby couldn't lose him, she just couldn't. But what if she already had? It was too much to take and the inevitable tears came. The tough facade around her dissolved as she faced what could possibly be.
The pacing stopped and she leaned against the wall only to slide down it, balled up on the floor, her arms around her legs, face buried against them. His face flashed in her mind when he caught that bow and glared at her. It was the one and only time in her life she could remember being well and truly afraid. And now he was back and she doubted he wanted to find her to catch up.
Her entire body trembled and she had no idea how long she'd been sitting there. The breakdown she usually had in the shower was now hitting her full force and she couldn't stop it. She'd left the door between hers and Booths room unlocked for when he got back. What happened if she lost him too? Maybe it was best if Drake did just get her and left everyone else alone that she cared about.
Use it. That were the words that Blade had said to her the night she found Sommerfield. Those words, though she could hear them clear as day over and over in her head, they just weren't getting through this time.
