It had been a rash decision, certainly, but from time to time, spur-of-the-moment ideas were Selina Kyle's forte. Truth be told, it had been a long time coming. Gotham had become far too crowded for her taste, at least when it came down to criminality. It had taken Selina weeks to put together her ensemble and the tools that went with such, all of which was currently located in a locked trunk in the rental car, and she would be damned if the inspiration for it all took her down before she was able to really get the party started. No, let him stay in Gotham. Selina would bring her get-up elsewhere, she'd decided, and she had gotten a one-way plane ticket out to Los Angeles the next morning.
Packing up her brownstone had proved difficult, as she'd found it hard to choose what to bring and what not to bring with her. What she hadn't finally sold off she'd loaded up for the movers to bring out to California, with the exception of her cats, Isis and Hecate. There was also Bastet, Miss Kitty, and Adrienne to worry over, but Selina had left the three cats in good hands. Isis, on the other hand, absolutely refused to be left behind, as much of her owner's familiar as she'd always been, perching herself on Selina's right shoulder as the woman had started rounding up cats. Hecate was still a kitten, and Selina didn't have the heart to give her up as well.
Isis wasn't pleased with this at all, of course, as she now let out a low growl at the kitten whom had been stuffed into the pet carrier with the older cat. Selina snapped her fingers at Isis, a warning, before pulling out some of her luggage from the back of her trunk. She sighed as she gazed up at the hotel. The movers wouldn't arrive for several days, and she hadn't yet signed the lease to her new apartment; that was tomorrow's task. Besides, who wanted to sleep in an empty loft? She'd stay here until the movers arrived.
Everything was falling into place nicely; that was, until Hecate started to yowl. Selina scowled and moved to open the carrier, ready to scold Isis for attacking the kitten, when the kitten suddenly leapt out of her holding cell and took off, bounding down the street. Selina quickly latched the carrier back up, not noticing Isis's rather smug expression, and went after her. When the cars began to honk their horns, Hecate panicked and took a sharp left, into an alley. Selina let out a note of panic herself as she hurried in the same direction, looking around. The kitten had disappeared. "Hecate! Hecate, come back!" After a moment, she added, "Please!"
