There was constant noise, buzzing, beepin, talking, squeaky wheels being rolled around. The scents were horrible, everything smelled too clean, anti-septic everywhere. Even the air tasted clean. Every second they thought he was asleep, couldn't hear anything. But that wasn't the case at all. Drake was alert, heard everything around him. And every second he was waiting, planning his revenge on the ones that put him there.
Blade. He'd pay if he wasn't already. The other one, King the one he'd kidnapped. Drake would have great pleasure in ending his miserable life slowly. And then there was the woman, the archer. She thought to end him. The look on her face when she'd thought she'd succeeded, the hitch in her breath when she realized she'd failed. Then there were her eyes, horrified at the knowledge it was her fault. But then he'd grown too arrogant for even his own good and gave Blade just the window he needed to take him down.
The fools. They thought they'd ended him for good. That couldn't of been further from the truth at all. The so called disease they'd afflicted him with merely put him into a deep sleep, what the humans referred to as a coma. They'd find out otherwise all too soon when he had risen to end them.
His heartrate was picking up, he could feel it, hear it on the monitor beeping incessantly. It made him smirk inwardly, someone would rush in to check on him. Sadly for them it'd be the last patient they ever saw. And just as if he cued it himself a petite little brunette rushed in, looking over his dosage and checking the machines. She reached to touch him and his fingers caught her wrist, wrapping around her arm nearly tight enough to snap the bone.
Just as suddenly his eyes opened, the amber flecks shifting and morphing to appear human. They pinned her, struk with fear and he smiled slowly, as if in an attempt to calm her. As he slowly rose the corners of his mouth pulled upwards in a sinister smile. Before she had time to even let the fear sink in he launched at her, his fangs tearing through her flesh, that first delicious drop of crimson touching his lips making him growl.
The nurse didn't even have enough time to scream as he fed from her, sustaining what he needed of her essence. It wasn't nearly enough to satiate him, but for now it'd have to do. Letting her go the lifeless corpse fell to the floor, her head lolling to the side, a single river of blood making a track down her neck. The terror still evident in her eyes.
He walked out of the room, the needles and other instruments hooked up to him coming unfastened, the room filled with a symphony of beeps and buzzes as he slipped down the hall, long enough to grab someone passing by and pull them into a storage closet. This one he didn't have time to indulge in and snapped his neck, changing into the dead mans clothes. He heard the screams and the chaos outside the door and walked out.
Security guards immediately spotted him. Drake took off running, not that he needed to he just wished to escape a public confrontation right now. He raced through the waiting room and leapt towards the window, shattering the glass as he jumped down and landed on his feet on the pavement below. There were obviously some startled people around him. Eyes were wide and mouths agape as he made his way to the car stopped in front of him.
Someone had brought a car around to the entrance to pick up someone in a wheel chair. Hissing he yanked the driver from the car and got in, tires skidding as he took off, heading for the city before him. Los Angeles, the so called City of Angels.
Cops cars sped back the way he came and he smirked, adjusting the mirror. The second he was within the busy downtown area he parked the car and got out, leaving it. It was time to find something suitable for lunch.
