Integral noticed the girl before she chose to address her. There was certain ethereal quality about her in her size and mannerisms to contrast her great height and grounded, sharp features. It certainly never helped the way the knight overdressed to her vampire servant’s disappointment. The weather was hot and unpleasant and yet she persisted in dressing with black suits and coats.
Lovely night indeed, Alucard would have said something of the sort if he appeared. She had no doubts he was watching from somewhere. Any shadow, even hers, could conceal his presence.
“Good evening,” replied Integra, courtly, raising an inquisitive brow; her face was half hidden by the smoke from her cigar. Hmm. She glanced at the girl for a short period of time. It wasn’t very American to greet strangers at random. Hell, she doubted it was English as well. Public education did not help to enforce bloody manners. Although, she could disregard them unless they were absolutely necessary.
