“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let’s get down to business.” He pulled the backpack down off his shoulder and held it to his front with both hands. The bag offered by Damien was grabbed greedily and held under one arm while he undid the zipper of the thing in his clutches. Reaching down he felt around and came back out with the gem, a deep red trimmed in gold, about the size of his palm and heavier than it looked. He held it out for Damien to see and overall, looked bored. The gem was nice and all, but he just wanted to get rid of it already.
“Here you go. Have fun. Don’t throw it at anybody’s head. This thing could kill someone.” Impulse shoved it at him for Damien to take. “No refunds, so don’t even think about it.”
