Ryan had been appearing all over town. He had not been too amused at having his voice taken away. He had been watching the boards. He could not, and he had no clue why, even type what he felt like saying. However.. there were quite a few interesting drawings and images. Unfortunately, he sort of sucked at art. So he just observed.
From what he could figure out, it was something about ugly guys in suits that stole sound and rip out a number of hearts. He wasn't too clear on the details of how to beat them, but he hoped that someone would be able to. He couldn't even use those colorful words he was so fond of using! Ohh.. but he made do. He settled for mouthing the words, but more often than not.. he settled for using his middle finger in public. He even made a few obscene motions with his hands when he saw a girl.
And when people would get mad at his gestures, he'd just laugh.. though it wasn't as fun without sound.. and just vanished from their sight. After wandering around a bit, he appeared on the steps of the library. He was sitting down with a bottle of beer in his hand. He drank some, guzzled a large gulp. He winced, saying, "Fuck," as he shook his head.
He just looked absently at the bottle. Them his eyes widened. He had made a sound! Granted, it came out as a barely audible whisper. Maybe that was because he'd been so use to not having a voice by now. But he smiled.. yes, this was progress. He paused, took a deep breath. "Shit!"
Well.. that was a bit better. It came out as a shout. He laughed, rising up on his feet and holding the beer bottle up high, as though it were a prize. He shouted once more. "Damn! Fuck! Shit! Asshole!" He grinned. "Yes, I can talk now!!" He realized that sounded over the top for him, and he sounded like a nuisance, but that didn't matter. Not to him. He could make noise again.. and at this point, any sound he could manage now was better than nothing...
