There was so much she wanted to say to the woman who had birthed her, but no proper way in which to go about saying it. She was angry, concerned, saddened, and mostly confused over this revelation. Hurt that the man she'd called daddy for eighteen years of her life had not told her that the woman she'd looked up to during her tutelage in the diplomatic arts had been her mother. Confused as to how she'd ended up in the care of the Organas after her birth mother's fall...and how that had all played out. Were the records even true?
She'd read over them a dozen times - how the rebel Jedi on Coruscant had killed Senator Amidala and her body had been brought back to her home planet of Naboo and given a burial suited to the queen that she'd been. Leia even remembered visiting the planet once. Very briefly, but she remembered visiting Amidala's tomb with her father--with Bail. She remembered Bail looking stricken at that moment, but had always associated the expression with the knowledge she had of Amidala having been a friend of her father's, having served alongside him as a member of the Loyalist Committee during the final days of the Republic.
Oh, Leia knew her histories inside and out - especially the history surrounding the woman she had practically idolized as a young girl going into her first diplomatic role. She'd been quite the tomboy growing up, going out of her way to defy her parents and aunts, doing everything possible to be something other that a princess and a politician...it had partically been reading about the efforts of this woman that had inspired Leia to do what she was being guided into...what made her feel it was all worth it.
Letting out a sigh and shaking her head, Leia pressed her fingers against the warm cup of coffee the waitress had just sat down in front of her, nodding in appreciation to the woman after informing her that she was still waiting on her...guest before she'd place an order.
She reached up and tucked a strand of hair that had escaped the braids that were wound together at the back of her head in a complex bun, leaning back in the chair and wondering if this had been such a good idea after all.
