WHO: Jaina Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi
WHAT: The past and the future collide.
WHEN: Mid-afternoon
WHERE: Random woods near Jaina's StealthX.
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In Progress
Even though her battle with Exar Kun had long since finished, Jaina had no intention of letting up on her training. He was still out there and posed a very real threat, and there was always the chance that her grandfather could turn back to the Dark Side. Or her brother. Not to mention all of the other Dark Sided creatures that roamed the city, who could decide to attack herself or anyone she cared about at any given moment. So really, when she thought about it, it was a wonder she wasn't training ever single moment of every single day.
Only, really, she was. When she wasn't eating, or sleeping, she was training in some capacity. There just wasn't much else for her to do, really, and honing her abilities as the Sword of the Jedi helped keep her from making bad choices when so many were readily available.
In order to keep attention to a minimum, however, she'd taken to mostly training in the woods where she had her SteatlhX hidden away from prying eyes. She'd used some of the key components she'd taken from the shadow bombs before she'd gotten rid of them, and had created a training device to assist her.
The device was disc-shaped and was programmed to follow specific Force signatures. The bolts of electricity it shot ranged from mild stings to downright painful burns. It had several settings - the lesser ones meant for Andrew - and the only real issue she was having was with the higher settings that were meant for her. The main problem was that it couldn't maintain a fast enough speed to keep up with her, and the shocks were sporadic at best. Not that any of them had managed to hit her, just yet, but a few had come close. Only when the machine was supposed to be set to neutral, though.
So she had spent most of the morning working out as many of the kinks as she could find, and had spent the better part of the afternoon darting through the trees, and across small, open meadows with the device hot on her heels and zapping anything it came across. It was on her second trip past the area where her ship was parked that she finally realized she wasn't alone. Someone else was coming and, while she didn't recognize their signature within the Force, she did recognize the power behind it.
Unfortunately, the training device realized the same thing and, after a mere nanosecond of hovering in order to make a decision, clearly considered this new threat to be far greater than Jaina. It looked like a streaked blur as it shot through the air, heading for the still unseen newcomer. With a soft curse, Jaina took off after it.
She managed to catch up just as they had reached a small clearing. There was a man up ahead and the device was powering up to send a bolt of electricity flying. Jaina used the Force to increase her speed and leapt into the air as she cleared the treelines.
"Look out!" she called out to the stranger before flipping over the top of the device and landing a few feet away from the man. Her back to him, she raised her lightsaber and blocked the first three shots in rapid succession. Finally, the last one she aimed directly for the device. The electricity caused it to freeze in mid-air, spark a few times, then finally crash to the ground in a heap.
Drawing in a breath, Jaina exhaled slowly then turned to the stranger. Her lightsaber was still ignited, although she lowered it to her side. Looking him up and down, her attention finally fell to his face and she offered a hint of a smirk. "Sorry about that. Karking thing has a mind of its own, sometimes," she said by way of greeting.
