What: Her arrival in Los Angeles
When: Shortly after midnight
Where: Griffith Park
Rating: TBD
Status: In Progress
Although she wasn't stupid by any means, Annie would be one of the first to admit there were a good number of things she Did Not Know. She didn't know, for instance, who was the current President of the United States. She didn't know how to drive a car. She didn't know her exact address nor her home telephone number.
She did, however, know one thing with absolute crystal clarity at this point in time. She was most definitely, without a doubt, 100% NOT in Seattle.
In fact, if Annie was the type to bet (or even really knew what betting was) she would have been willing to put down serious money on the fact that she was nowhere near the city where she'd been born and raised. It didn't look the same, it didn't sound the same, it didn't even feel the same. There was death and destruction, here. There were people in trouble and there were bad people who were trying to hurt those in trouble even more than they already had. She could sense their fear, their anguish, their sense of hopelessness.
And it scared the hell out of her.
Arms wrapped tightly around her middle, the young girl peered around in wide-eyed terror. Where was Sister? Where were her parents? She would even be glad to see Emery, or even Joyce, at this point. She would rather see Rose Red itself, still standing tall and majestic amidst the backdrop of a booming metropolis. Anything familiar, anything at all, would be a welcomed relief to the young woman.
Relief, however, wasn't coming. And she had no idea what to do. She'd never been on her own before. She'd never had to take care of herself. She really wasn't even sure how. It was only by sheer luck that she was having one of her more lucid moments and hadn't already retreated into the safety of her own mind.
Truth be told, she was tempted to do precisely that anyway. Nothing looked familiar and it scared her to the point of near hysterics, even if on the outside she still appeared calm, quite possibly detached from the entire situation. Trembling slightly, she allowed her gaze to trail upward until finally something familiar came into view.
It was the moon. Nearly full, beaming brightly upon the small clearing where she stood. Annie's lips curled into a faint smile as she watched it for a moment. "Pretty..." she murmured in a faint whisper, only to sense more than hear footsteps approaching. Stiffening, she slowly turned toward the shadows behind her, terror rising in her throat as she waited for whoever was out there to make their presence known while her mind screamed for Sister to come and save her from this terribly unfamiliar place.
