Though he had been shot twice yesterday and he hadn't slept this late in the day in years, Nathan felt fantastic. How could he not after last night? His own brother had saved his life, giving him a second chance in more ways than just one. He didn't even think of bemoaning his situation, because if he hadn't been brought here, no doubt he would have been dead before anyone could have done anything to help him. He owed Peter his life, but what connected them was blood and love, rather than debt, even though Nathan felt compelled to make up for the result of the alternate choice he had made in another timeline. Why he had done so, he couldn't guess, and he might never know for certain, so his energies were better spent doing better from this point on.
Having stolen a shirt of Peter's to replace the ruined one of his own, he was still forced, because he was built heavier than Peter, to put on the same pants he had arrived in, once he had inspected them for any telling stains – thankful, they were a dark fabric and covered it well. So dressed, he made his way to the kitchen after informally 'meeting' several individuals on the posting board because he found he was starving, in addition to needing coffee. His offer to make coffee for others in trade was well-intentioned, but not everyone would expect a 'mean cup of coffee' to actually resemble something like tar.
The post itself hadn't been to announce his plans in order to meet perfect strangers, though that was fine too because he was curious about the inhabitants of this place. It had actually been intended to be a roundabout announcement of his presence to those who would know him, accessible for them to find him. It was easier to make the gesture when it was so vague, rather than go knock on any doors and announce himself, because he wasn't certain how they felt or, in the case of the Peter and Claire from approximately his own time, where exactly they came from as far as the date.
If it didn't work, he would try a new tactic, but he hoped this would.
