WHO: Lucy Pevensie and Xander Harris. WHERE: A library and then TDB. WHEN: Saturday, May 7; afternoon WHAT: Xander has offered to help Lucy! RATING: TBD STATUS: thread; in-progress
The message she had written on the computer had come at a very troublesome time for Lucy, as the money she had was dwindling rapidly after paying for a tiny room in a very dingy motel this last week. She had, fortunately, had luck with some of her money being more valuable than she realized, thanks to a helpful older man at the bank she had originally visited to exchange her money for American currency, information that allowed her to at least obtain food and a few articles of clothing with her increased funds. The outfit she had on the day she arrived simply did not work in this climate, but she was pleased with the few skirts and blouses she had found quite at a place called Wal-Mart, where she had gotten the rest of her necessities. Though the store heralded its low prices, they were still quite expensive to Lucy, coming from over fifty years in the past as she did.
However, even that money had dwindled and she had been forced to visit the shop she had taken some of her coins to in order to, as the man termed it, 'hock' her jewelry. She needed to find a source of income now that she had little left to sell, and thus far, she had been turned away from any inquiries made due to her lack of modern knowledge. A few times, in places such as bookstores and libraries, she had even gotten very strange looks, though she wasn't certain why.
Not everything about this modern city had been so nice, but she was heartened by the help she had received thus far in finding all she had, but none more than the offer that had been made to her over the computer. Perhaps she shouldn't have been so trusting of a stranger, but that was Lucy, even with her experience in lived years that did not show on her face.
Settled on the steps within the shade of a tree, she waited on Xander to arrive, her knee-length skirt tucked about her legs neatly. She looked around curiously, perking slightly at every male figure that came near, only to sit back when she was not approached. Perhaps they should have decided on some sort of signal, though now it was too late.
