WHO: Lucy Pevensie and OPEN. WHERE: A park, possibly Elysian Park/Chavez Ravine Arboretum? Or just "generic park". WHEN: Afternoon WHAT: Lucy arrives in L.A. and (sadly) thinks she is somewhere she thought she would never be again. RATING: TBD STATUS: thread; in-progress
When Lucy Pevensie opened her front door and stepped inside her home, she expected to find the same sights as always – namely, the house. The last thing she expected – well, perhaps not the last, but then one would need to know her history – was that when she passed through that door, she would find herself outdoors. Not even in London, mind you, but apparently somewhere else altogether!
She certainly hadn't expected to step right into a pond. Yet, with a splash, she found herself nearly flat on her back in some very cold, though fortuitously shallow, water. After her initial startled shriek at being both outside and wet, a smile appeared. Once it had started, it brightened quickly to a beaming grin as, despite her sodden clothing, she was filled with a sudden, fierce elation. There was only one place she imagined she could be after going through a door that led from one outdoors area to another, a place she had never thought she would return to, as she had been told she never would.
Narnia.
Where else could she be? Not only because of the method of her delivery, of course, but the very fact a vision of a Narnian man had appeared so recently, an obvious sign they were once more needed. They had all thought it meant only Eustace and Jill, for they were both still young enough and Lucy and the others had known they would not return, but perhaps that was no longer true. Struggling in the water a moment, she righted herself and clumsily made her way out of the tiny pond to the grassy bank beside it, looking down at herself before looking up and around, hoping she would recognize something, but suspecting too many years had passed to make that possible.
