Eden had showed up here without much more than the clothes on her back. Being back in LA was bad enough but being back in LA without any money or anything to help her get along was far too close to the years that she had suffered in this hellhole. So close, in fact, that it had prompted her to slide back into her old ways of dealing with things. She had gotten a beautiful hotel room, a presidential suite, just by batting her eyelashes and whispering a few sweet words into the ear of the desk clerk. It had been easy enough convincing anyone that came calling that she was meant to be there. She had been able to order room service and everything on a billing plan, and whenever she left, she'd be able to wave the bill off with a few more words.
And while that had taken care of food and shelter, clothing was another matter entirely. She had moving between shops, taking a few pieces of clothing at a time, whenever she needed something else. Right now, she was in a small clothing store in downtown, looking through the nightgowns. When she noticed that the customers had slimmed down to just herself and a couple other people, Eden lifted a few of the gowns off the rack and didn't even bother to be subtle about how she took them off the rack and put them into her purse.
"Hey, hey! You can't do that," The clerk said, crossing over to Eden. "All items are supposed to stay outside of any bags until purchased."
Eden turned, smiling softly at the clerk before leaning forward and whispering, "Oh, come on. You can make an exception for little old me. Just let me take them. I promise you won't regret it."
The clerk stared for a long moment before nodding slowly, "Go ahead," She replied in a hallow voice, standing there stiffly as Eden beamed, turning on her heel and slipping out of the store.
