The sounds of the storm had roused Remy out of a perfectly fine nap, and knowing that it would be pointless to try to get back to sleep, he had left his room to check on Elisabeth. He hadn't talked to her all that much since their..."encounter." He hoped she wasn't taking it the wrong way. He had known going into their little "bout" that it had been a way for her to blow off steam, and had figured it was best to give her some space in the aftermath.
Plus, while he had tried to hard to avoid having the moment bring back any kind of strong feelings for Elisabeth (besides the ones that would always be there, under the surface), this had proved to be quite difficult. Not to mention that it had of course caused him to also think about Rogue, which in turned reminded him of all the dirty little secrets he was trying to keep from Elisabeth. In retrospect, he might have thought twice about their little "playtime" if he had known it would end with his thoughts so twisted up.
Now, Remy was just as shocked as Elisabeth to see the news declare this sudden storm a hurricane. But then, he was quickly learning to expect the unexpected in this city...this world. What surprised him even more was Elisabeth's sudden declaration that she had to go help someone, but before he could even respond she was gone in a flash...and then back just as quickly, clutching a child. Remy liked to consider himself a fairly quick-witted guy, usually on his toes, but for a few moments he was speechless. He knew Elisabeth had plenty of friends in this city (a perk he had as yet denied himself), but had not yet made a point to learn their various names and memorize their descriptions when talking to her.
As Elisabeth and her friend talked, Remy hung back, understanding their conversation had nothing to do with him. Still, though, he started to feel as if he should say something. This was his place, too, after all, and he just knew Elisabeth would have something to say later if she thought he made no attempt to be a gracious host to her guest. Luckily, his decision seemed to come at just the right time, as it allowed him to step in and break up the slight tension that seemed to hang in the air.
"Hey, little man," he said, walking up to the two and extending his hand towards the boy, "I'm Remy, Lis'beth's roomie. You'll have to fo'give her...she can get a little...overprotective at times."
