In Arthur's defense, his hide-out had been very safe indeed. A hole in a wall that only a kid stunted in growth could fit through. At least he thought that was about as safe as it could get. He shivered, half out of anger and half out of being freezing cold. He really disliked it when people thought he couldn't handle things like this. He was a man, in his world and he spent a lot of his time trying to prove to Lex that he was a man in this world as well. He didn't like the thought that he might have to go out and prevent the storm itself just so she could see that he wasn't a weak little boy. He glanced down and averted her eyes with a guilty expression. He'd let her be right this time, and he felt very bad for making her worried. "I'm sorry, Miss Elisabeth. I did not want to worry you, but I was perfectly safe." Just a little bit scared, he added in his mind.
He rubbed the palm of his hand on his cold, wet forehead and let out a sigh. "I don't want to.. but.. you sounded so worried." He admitted quietly after a moment. Right then and there, he realized Lex wasn't the only one he had been avoiding. He'd been avoiding his own parents as well. At least in memory. And Myrtle. It had been so long since he had last seen them. Were they worried? Pushing the unhappy thoughts aside for the moment, he finally looked at Elisabeth. "I am really sorry."
