"What.. but, how.. how did you.." Clark was caught by surprise when Bart came into the room that way. He had done it before. Well.. one that was five years older. He wasn't sure if Impulse had any memory of that. But this was certainly new. As he was pulled back, he felt his strength returning. The scars on his face had vanished.
"Well, well," Lex said with a smirk. "Rescued by a human. But I'm surprised, Bart.. you defending him? When, a year ago, he lost his cool and threw you across the street. Nearly killed you. Or maybe you're biding your time to betray him. If he refuses to kill Davis again. But then, Oliver killed me too.. so it makes sense."
"Will you please.. shut up," Clark said, glaring at him. He was tempted to rush at him. But there was the issue of that ring. "That was War. And what happens here is none of your business. I take it back.. I'm not saying please."
"Excuses," Lex said with a scoff. "I'm surprised they actually took you back. After everything you've done. And will probably do again. It was only not long ago when someone almost drowned because of you." He looked at Bart. "Kal is a threat to the planet, it's my birthright to stop him. To stop more invaders. You think you can take my ring? I have a team ready to storm this place in minutes. Every one of you will be guests in my new 33.1 lab. So, go ahead.. steal from me again. I dare you."
"Oh, that's not a good idea," Clark mumbled under his breath. He was trying to ignore the digs Lex was doing to him. Now wasn't the time for a guilt trip. He didn't really believe Lex had any teams or agents here, or even his work, or connections. Probably a bluff. He whispered to Bart. "Until that ring is off or destroyed, you're the only one who can get the upper hand. Then we can both shut him up. For good."
