Who: Sharon and another ghost What: Another visit, randomness When: December 20th, night, after her conversation with Sam Where: The Lux Rating: Not that high Status: Complete
She'd spent most of the day scouting for apartments. She had to work later, but was going to get back to get Hera supper and run by some apartments with Helo so they could quickly be out of Sam and Mirta's way. She had Hera in her arms, and was walking into the main bar where she was pretty sure the little rascal had hid her cup, when she stopped dead in her tracks.
Sitting at the bar was Colonel Saul Tigh, the XO of the Galactica and her Superior. She knew this was one of those 'not real' people again. First Number One, then she'd seen Caprica, and yesterday had been Boomer. Now it was Tigh. Somehow this was Sam's fault for making her think more about what the Final Five might actually be.
"Colonel." Sharon said, sliding into a seat beside him with Hera in her lap. Tigh looked over to her with one eye. "Lieutenant. Did I say you could sit down?"
Sharon arched an eyebrow, looking around. "This isn't the Galactica, neither of us are on duty and I'm pretty sure you aren't real." she was only pretty sure because somehow he was lifting a glass of something and drinking it. Though it sure as hell looked like something that was on The Galactica.
Tigh gazed at her for a moment before shrugging. "Good point." He finished off the last of his drink with a sigh, and put the glass on the table. She could smell the alcohol off his breath.
"Great, so why am I seeing you?" she asked, adjusting Hera on her lap.
"Don't know." Tigh said with a shrug. "Maybe because you're thinking about the Five. Blame Anders." Athena looked momentarily amused at the thought.
But her thoughts were interrupted by Tigh getting up and walking around the other side of the bar. "What are you doing?" Sharon asked, setting Hera down.
"What does it look like I'm doing?" Tigh said, reaching for one of the bottles, which apparently he could touch. "Look at all the frakkin' booze, so much better than the stuff Chief made." Sharon groaned and ran around the other side of the bar, pulling the bottle out of his hands.
"Can't do that, sir. This is Anders' booze. This is a bar, you have to pay for it." she said, putting the bottle back and shooing him out from behind the bar.
"Can't I just pull rank an-"
"No, sir. Now sit." she said, rolling her eyes at the complete ridiculousness of this conversation.
"First I find out I'm a frakkin' skin job, and now I gotta pay for booze again." her grumbled, sitting down on the stool. He glanced down, looking at Hera who had occupied herself with running around a stool. She was playing some sort of game that made sense to her. "How's the kid?"
Sharon looked down at her with a smile. "She's good. How's yours?" she knew Caprica was expecting.
"A second generation toaster." he replied with a smile. "Good, real good, Doc Cottle says he's got a good heart beat." that was good news. The first full cylon child. That was as big as Hera's birth had been. "So guess that means that you...what? Have a have a new sister and a niece all at once." Tigh said with a laugh, causing Athena to stare at him.
"What do you mean? Do you know what D'Anna meant?" she asked.
"Hell if I know. I'm just in your head, remember?" he asked, tapping his own head with a finger. "Wondering the same thing you are. For all we know I could be out an air lock by now." the thought made both of them go quiet for a moment.
"Maybe I'm just like you, or maybe you are somehow my 'kid.'" he said with a shrug. "Your great-grand father was a power center."
For a moment she gaped at him, and he just stared back. Until slowly his faced cracked and then he burst out laughing. Sharon groaned, leaning back in her chair. Maybe she should have just let him take the alcohol.
