"I think somehow I always knew."
Sam turned at the sound of the unmistakable accent, still with the trace of sarcasm but also with a reverential tone that had never been directed at him in the Galactica.
D'Anna Biers, otherwise known as Number Three was standing behind the bar, her strawberry blonde hair almost lit up like a halo by the low bar lights as she stared at him, her eyes wide with the sort of wonder that made him shift uncomfortably.
"What are you doing here?"
His question was ignored as she stepped around to move closer to him. "I think even back on Caprica, I knew you weren't just another human, that was why I could never bring myself to kill you."
"Bring yourself," Sam laughed harshly. "I seem to remember that we did a fair amount of beating you back there. You tried your best to kill us, repeatedly."
"No, no," D'Anna insisted, reaching to stand just in front of him. "I could never kill you. You, you're like our father. And now, with your daughter, you are bringing the savior of our race. You will bring a new era for all of us."
Sam felt oddly sick at the thought. As much as he had accepted his true self, accepted that he was a Cylon, in his heart he still felt human. He still hated the Cylons for the slaughter of humanity and the way they had hunted down his resistance group. These days he didn't know exactly where his loyalties lay beyond one fact.
His family.
Nothing else mattered but them.
His face twisted into a scowl as he glared at D'Anna. "I don't know why you're here. I don't know if you're even real. But just in case, I will tell you this, if you ever go near my daughter I will kill you. I will kill every single one of you if I have to."
D'Anna looked as though he had slapped her across the face, blinking tears away before she faded into nothing but shadows.
