Angel, Spike, and Sarah were on their way to Wolfram & Hart and Cordelia was, to put it mildly, nervous. The group's history of breaking into the prestigious law firm wasn't a great one and she doubted it'd go any better this time around. She wanted to be there, fighting alongside them, but Angel had put his foot down and, surprisingly enough, had refused to budge.
She was stung at his decision, and frustrated, but she stayed her tongue and agreed to remain behind because she did see his point. As good of a fighter as she was becoming, she didn't have super strength. She didn't have added speed, or magic, or anything besides her witty commentary and mind-numbing visions. She would be a hindrance in this particular mission rather than a help. Of course, Angel hadn't put it that way exactly, but Cordelia knew that's what it all boiled down to.
Still, just because she wasn't rushing off to play hero didn't mean she couldn't contribute. So as soon as the trio had left, she'd settled herself in front of the computer in the lobby with a cup of coffee and an entire database worth of spells, ancient rituals, and other potential solutions of the supernatural variety. She may not be able to go steal an artifact, but by the time Angel and the others returned with it, she was determined to know exactly how, when, and where to use it.
"Well," the brunette sighed as she scrolled through the first page of the 'A' section of the online database, "it may not be the most glamorous of jobs, but I guess it will have to do." With a small shrug - and a quick check to make sure she had her cellphone beside her and turned on in case Angel called - she turned her attention back to the computer screen. Although a heartbeat later she couldn't help but announce, "And for the record, I hate Latin. Ugh."
