WHO: Stefan and Clarissa WHAT: Heading to the Welcome Center WHEN: Mid-day WHERE: Welcome Center RATING: PG-13 (possibly... for language) STATUS: Open
Stefan had experienced change before. Big change. Like "living through over a century of decades" change. Or "watching your friends and family die from a far while you never age" change. And by far the biggest change he'd ever experienced... becoming a vampire. But this change he was feeling now was somehow different. It was tied to the feelings he had been having since he abandoned his girlfriend Elena in Mystic Falls. The feeling that made him drive onward to Los Angeles.
Almost like the feeling that pushed him further to his new life, the change was something that just occurred. It was like one minute he was normal, pining for Elena, and the next minute he had changed. Just a simple feeling, a knowing that something bigger had happened. These feelings of change paired with the sudden urge to be in LA was just enough to invoke a curiosity that Stefan welcomed. Since the trip began, he'd been welcoming any emotion other than sadness over the girl he left in Virginia to protect from... well, from himself.
As he pulled into the city limits, he passed something else that took his mind away from the darkness it so desperately wanted to return to. It was a building that he normally would have not even seen. However, something within himself wanted him to notice it... to turn his vehicle into the parking lot.
After his car was stopped and was put into park, he habitually checked his ring to make sure it was still on his finger. This was a stupid action, and he knew it since he never took it off. But he still checked to make sure it was in place before getting out of the car, shutting the door, and making his way up to a sign.
"The Los Angeles Welcoming Center," he read to himself. He contemplated getting back in the car and continuing on his way, but his body had already made that decision for him as he made his way up the stairs and through the front door.
