In the long run, Claire was right. He'd had it pretty easy compare to some of the others. A drunken night getting his head back together and a day of recuperation he honestly felt better. Stronger even for it. In the past he might not have been able to move forward like he seemed to be doing. He'd have been held back by the confusion and fought it, even bitter. But he was dealing and coping and in a healthier way. He had a set back with the liquor, but it was supervised liquor. Once his head had stopped it's pounding, he stopped feeling sorry for himself and went out. Being outside was doing him a world of good. It was like everything was threading back together nicely for the first time in a while without much a strain. He'd even found his Delta Morpher once he calmed down. He had no luck with his blasters, but whenever he found Sky next, oh yes. They'd be his. He had blasters when morphed at least so he wasn't completely defenseless. If all else failed, there was a stake in the back pocket of his jeans. Old school, but it worked.
Jack was on his usual route after signing in at the Hyperion. Through the park and in the bad side of town. It smelled horrible but it didn't faze him as much as it used to. Maybe Sam was right this was where he belonged. He came from the future and found home in the past. Even in the bad side of town some of the storefronts and apartment complex's had Christmas lights hanging. He couldn't help but look at them. He wasn't into the holiday much but he liked the lights. Maybe he could convince Sky to put up red and blue ones at the apartment. He wasn't really looking for trouble, but in this part of the city trouble had no problem finding him. Honestly though he was okay with that. It was a good way to take out pent up frustrations.
What was that old saying? Be careful what you wish for? As the red ranger crossed a seedy demon bar the window shattered infront of him and Jack covered his face with his arms turning his back as a vampire was thrown from inside to the streets on the ground infront of him. Once the glass settled and the shouting stopped he looked down at the disgruntled and bleeding drunk vampire with a raised eyebrow. "Really?" He asked with challenging snark as the creature bared it's fangs and snarled. "Well okay then. But no take backs." A smirk crept into his lips as he raised his hands in a fighting stance that looked like a mix between hip hop kido and street fighting. His back hand pulled the stake and the vampire scrambled up to it's feet to run.
Jack was confused. "I'm not going to run after you....okay apparently I am." He called and loosened up his stance following at a quicker pace but not quite a full run. Walking past the bar and it's broken window, he passed the alley closest and intended to just keep walking. Until he heard the sounds of hissing and screaming. That very same vampire that was kicked out of the bar had friends, and those friends had a victim. He wasn't running from Jack and his witty lines, he was running to the food.
"Dinner's over guys." Okay..he was a little out numbered. But that didn't stop him. Never had, never would. They all looked at him venomously for interrupting meal time but Jack didn't flinch he just gripped the stake a little tighter and looked right, then left. Too many people to fight on the sidewalk but that alley was big enough if he could get behind them. Jumping up in the air above their heads his feet hit the wall and he flipped for momentum to get behind them finding the space he needed. "Let her go." He said pointing at the victim who was crying and all they did was laugh. "Not a chance." Jack shook his head as one lunged and he just had to hold the stake. Stupid was dust. But whatever, one less fanged creep against him. The others watched cautiously. "Alright then. No choice huh?" Jack questioned. Delta Morpher out from his pocket, Jack smirked. "SPD Emergency." Red light flooded the alley for a few seconds and a suit of special red armor hugged his body. "I'll show you how it's done, B-squad style." Pulling holstered weapons from his belt he said " D-shot. " And it powered up. The long range accuracy weapon hummed to life. Point blank he fired the laser charged blaster at the vampire's feet who was holding onto the victim's arm. It fell away as the vampire jerked backwards and the girl in the pile of vampires scrambled to the forefront of the alley in attempt to run while they were distracted by the red sparks that flew.
"Had enough?" The group advanced, Jack stepped back. He couldn't fire again until the girl was safely out of the confined area. "Guess not.."
