AUROR DISCOVERS MURDER TOO LATE TO SAVE VICTIM
By Betty Brathwaite
LONDON - Another homicide has been added to the growing list, whose demises are suspected of being at the hands of the same individual. This time, however, the murderer was surprised by Auror Ronald Weasley who had been scheduled to meet with the victim, Penelope Clearwater, and had sought her out at her apartment when she did not show.
Unfortunately, the skills of Auror Weasley proved to be less than competent as he was bested by the assailant, whom he allowed to get away. The victim, who due to extreme blood loss had already been at death's door upon the Auror's arrival, died at some point during the skirmish. The only description that could be given of the murderer was a dark-haired woman of less than average height.
Of interest is the fact that Miss Clearwater's Muggle brother, Lloyd Clearwater, had been murdered the night of November 6. According to friends of the deceased, the last person to have seen him alive was of a similar description to Miss Clearwater's assailant.
This latest murder has not only left many questions unanswered, but has inspired further questions, such as: Are the Clearwater murders related, and if so, has a witch indeed murdered a Muggle? Or is this dark-haired witch someone else using polyjuice? Why are people being murdered at all? And why was the life of Auror Weasley spared when so many others have died?
PANDORA ZURLO SPOTTED IN A FIREPLACE IN LONDON
Hit-wizards were called to a residence in London yesterday afternoon when Lavender Brown, an employee at the Rising Loaf, claimed to friends she had seen Pandora Zurlo in her fireplace. The squad, led by team leader Ernest Macmillan, secured the flat and found no evidence of an intruder, but have assigned a security detail to the flat in case 'Zurlo' returns.
