April 2nd, Takato and Legolas
Who?: Takato Matsuki and Legolas
What?: Legolas guiding Takato around the mansion
When?: After Takato's explosive arrival
Where?: All around the mansion
Rating?: PG
Status? Complete

Legolas knew that the other two could handle the rest of the new arrivals. He wanted to get the boy out of there, the boy and the beast. He smiled over at them, his hand moved to encompass the mansion. "Shall I show you around then?" He moved in between the staircases, circling the fountain. He kept his ears peeled for anything going on behind him, knowing that it was rare for someone to turn their back upon a could be enemy. He just couldn't stand all the anger, hurt, pain, rejection, all those bad feelings any longer.

It was tolling on him.

Already with just the small distance between him and such dark thoughts, he felt his energy coming back to him. Life seemed to glow around him, a faint light of hope. He turned his head, looking back at Acheron and Kakashi. He was worried for the two, but he knew if any could handle the other two boys then they could. He was sure of it. Glad of it as well. If he had been left here alone to deal with the three, he would have surely fell ill.

His eyes trailed back to Takato. "I shall show you the lower level first, then as we go up, I will show you to your room, yes? You did get your key and map did you not?" He looked at the boy's hands for a moment, wondering if he had. There had been so much going on Legolas wasn't sure if any of them had actually gotten their items.

He led the boy first to the kitchen, all growing teens needed their food. He assumed that Takato and his scaled friend would be spending a lot of their time here. Legolas smiled as he opened the doors for the two of them. "Here is where you will find food, it appears as needed. Are you hungry? We can eat if you wish, I have all day and all night to entertain you, unless something goes wrong of course." Which he hoped it wouldn't. He had long thought that his days of war were over.

Takato was very grateful to have gotten Legolas as his guide, as he was easily the least scary of the three that seemed to be familiar with the area. He did seem rather… ill, however, though he appeared to get better the farther away he got from all the tension behind them. Takato briefly wondered if this actually was the Digital World and these people were Digimon and they just weren’t aware of it… Digimon were easily influenced by human emotion, after all. Megidramon was all the evidence of that Takato needed. He shuddered at the thought of the apocalyptic dragon before reminding himself that that was a long time ago, and things were just fine now.

“Huh?” he said as Legolas’s inquiry about his map and key brought him back to the real world (or whatever world this was). “Oh, yeah, I got it. I think Acheron knew I was scared of him and slid it across the floor to me at some point, because I found it at my feet…” He pulled out his key to see what room number he had. “Let’s see… Room 277.”

Takato’s eyes widened when he saw the kitchen. Guilmon’s widened more.

“Food!!!” yelled the dinosaur. “Do you have any bread!?” Takato sighed.

“Guilmon…” said the gogglehead, slapping his forehead before turning to Legolas. “My parents own a bakery, and before I told them about Guilmon I had to sneak him all the old bread to feed him. Hence the addiction. Anyway, I’ll come back to eat later.” After this, he turned to his partner.

“Hey Guilmon, if you can wait, then when the tour’s over we can come back here and I’ll make you some Guilmon Bread!”

At the promise of bread shaped like his head, Guilmon appeared to warp back to his partner’s side. “Ok!”

“So…” said Takato, “what’s next?”

Legolas smiled as Takato answered him, "I see, Acheron is very observant, to say the least. He is a very powerful being, but he is kind. He just puts up a front, I have yet to learn why." The elf smiled sadly, "I am sure he has a good reason for such actions."

A pleasant smile crossed his features at the way the beast reacted to the kitchen. The smile stayed as Takato seemed to rein in the child-like beast. "I would like to see you make this bread, if you don't mind me watching and learning. I think anything that fascinating to Guilmon I should learn." He gave a nod to both of them, then thought of the next course of action.

"What the map calls the living room shall be next." Legolas didn't know much about what was in all these rooms. There were lots of boxes not really made from natural items and things that made noises on their own but weren't alive. He had yet to really get to study them. Walking out of the kitchen he went to the right and down to the next set of double doors. Opening these for the two new arrivals he stepped back to let them enter first. "I am not sure about the things on the walls or the boxes below them. I have only gathered that they are not alive and that they may be used for some sort of entertainment."

A slim shoulder lifted. Legolas didn't like not knowing every detail of a place he was residing in. He could only hope that one of them would have the patience or knowledge to teach him soon. "Next is a place I know far more about, even though I do not wish to spend much time there. It is the Library." He smiled a little, wondering if either of them read much or would rather spend time in this Living Room that was not at all living.

“I don’t mind you watching at all!” said Takato happily. “Although, it’s usually my parents that make it. I’m still sort of learning myself.”

When Legolas led Takato to the living room, the goggle-wearing Tamer had to suppress a laugh at his new friend’s…lack of knowledge about modern technology. The way he described it all was…interesting, to say the least.

“Wait… he thinks the things here are supposed to be alive because it’s called the living room?” thought Takato. “Well, um… I guess the name IS a little inaccurate, but…”

“Takatomon?” asked Guilmon suddenly, bringing Takato out of his thoughts.

“Yeah boy?”

“I’m wondering too… why does everyone call this a living room? You live in every room…”

Takato sighed.

“Well boy, I’m not really sure. People just do. I suppose ‘Entertainment Room’ or something would be more accurate.” He turned to Legolas before continuing. “Um… no offense, but you don’t seem to understand modern technology all that well. I could help you with that sometime, if you want.”

He stopped while Legolas looked at the map to see their next location.

“Library? Sounds good to me. A good book is always nice,” said Takato. “Not that I ever have time to read, between school and wild Digimon bio-emerging in the city. Maybe I can finally sit down for a while here…” He laughed a bit before adding "course, going by the scene I saw by the fountain, this place is gonna be just as eventful as home."

"Then I suppose we should learn the art of bread making together to some extent. I only know how to make lembas, this is only because I spent some time in the kitchen of my father's home." Of course he would never say why he was always in the kitchen at that time. Pretty elven maids were not to be talked about to ones he did not know well. Even then, elven maids should choose who sees them, not be talked about by their lords.

As the beasts countenance became confused like his own, Legolas gave another smile. "It seems as if I am not the only ones confused by human's way of naming things." He listened closely as Takato gave his small explanation. He bowed his head slightly, "I would appreciate such a gesture. I fear the world I come from is far less advanced than yours, but we seem to be more aware of our surroundings than you. It could also be just my species, most humans do not see the things we elves can see, they are few and far between indeed. If I may, I can teach you thus, in return for you teaching me the ways of this world."

He gave a small smile, hoping that the young human boy would not mind teaching and learning as well. It had been some ages since he had to learn things from another. He was glad he would have another chance to learn.

"What is..." Legolas paused, "Digimon bio-emerging?" His brows drew together, not sure if he had spoke the words right. They were new to his tongue, and he could not break the words down into simpler terms of his own language. Other than 'bio' that meant something to do with the basics of a body, whether it be plant, animal, human or elf. Merging, now that was splicing things together into one. "This Digimon term, it is alive and it becomes one with something else?" He wondered if it was anything like creating a new species of tree, he had done that many times. To save a weak one with a strong one, one had to create a better tree through both combining together. He had not done it often, he and his people did not like toying with the creation of Illuvatar.

“Haha, you’re definitely not the only one,” said Takato. “But Guilmon is confused by a lot of things.”

Takato listened as Legolas talked of his home world and the difference between humans and his own species. He was right: humans were rather blind as to their surroundings, especially with the modern invention of cell phones. As a Tamer, Takato liked to believe he was a little more aware of what was around him, but that was proven false every time he accidentally “Lightning Jousted” someone’s car.

“Well, better the abandoned cars than the people that left them there. Wish Yamaki could see it like that sometime…” thought Takato.

“Well then I can start teaching you once Guilmon and I are all settled in,” said Takato. “And I’d love to learn how to be more aware… it could help me not cause as much destruction when dealing with wild ones.”

Takato stayed silent for a moment while Legolas posed his questions on bio-emergences and Digimon. He seems to have a hard time with the words, but he got them out right.

“Well, you see,” explained Takato, “a Digimon is… well, it’s hard to explain. Guilmon is a Digimon, but not all Digimon are like Guilmon. Some are big, some are small, some are weak, some are strong, some are beasts, some are humanoid… I’ll have to explain in detail another time. But, to give contrast to Guilmon, the form we entered in was also a Digimon. That was Guilmon’s Mega form: Gallantmon.”

“Gallantmon is your Mega form too, Takatomon! We biomerge!” said Guilmon.

“Well yeah, I guess,” said Takato, smiling. “Thanks boy. Anyway, before you ask, there’s a big difference in biomerging and bio-emerging. Biomerging is when a Tamer, like myself, fuses with their partner to skip straight to the partner Digimon’s Mega, or final, form. Bio-emerging is when a wild Digimon emerges from the Digital World into the Real World.”

Upon realizing that Legolas probably needed to know what “Digital” meant, Takato added “it’ll all make a little more sense once I explain modern tech, actually, as Digimon are a direct result of it. It’s a bit too much to explain all at once.”

Legolas nodded, "Anytime you are willing and free, Takato. I rarely need sleep, unless there is evil and strain surrounding me. Then must I rest, to keep my strength against such forces, or find my way out of their embrace."

Listening to Takato's explanation he smiled. He was being taught, by someone so much younger than he. It was an interesting thing. There was no such thing as two beings becoming one in his world, not that he knew of. There were those that fed on other's emotions, flesh, but none that ever merged with another. He supposed the only ones able to do such would be the Ents, if they ever tried. Possibly the Maiar could do something like that. Legolas knew Gandalf could bind certain things.

He bowed his head slightly, "I understand. You walk two worlds, ar at least know of two. That is more than we can do. I only know of one people that can walk two worlds, that is the world of the subconscious and the real world. Maiar they are called, wizards, and only the powerful ones may walk both worlds. Radagast the Brown wizard could talk and conjure animals. Gandalf, my dear friend, he knew many things, he could read people as well as us elves if not better. He understands evil ways far more than we do."

Smiling he put a hand on Takato's shoulder, "All in due time, my friend. We shall have plenty of time in this place, I fear." Walking to the next room he pointed to the door, "This is a rather feminine area, sitting area much like the so called living room. I do not think that we males should venture in unless invited." He gave another smile to Takato. "Next is a pool of water and two smaller boiling pools of water. I understand it is for enjoyment and exercise."

“Walking two worlds… yeah, that’s pretty much it,” said Takato. It was interesting to hear how someone not familiar with anything modern described the Digital World. From Legolas’s way of speaking, the Digital World seemed much more like that on the Digimon TV Show that Takato had always loved. It gave it that “magical” element that the Digital World Takato had been to lacked. Maybe it was because he knew exactly where his Digital World came from, who created it, and how it worked (or Yamaki and the Monster Makers did, anyway), but the one on the show was surrounded in mystery. It had always been a dream of Takato’s to visit that Digital World…after all, Digimon had been proven to be real, as did the Digital World. Who was to say there weren’t other worlds out there, like the one in the TV Show? This mansion certainly proved other worlds DID exist. So maybe…

“I wonder… what if one of the DigiDestined were to arrive?” thought Takato. “That would be SO cool… maybe even Tai will show up! But I shouldn’t get my hopes up… oh well, fun to think about.”

As Legolas began talking about the “Maiar,” Takato’s first thought was of Henry. He loved playing all those games on the internet with wizards and elves and stuff… and yet, Takato was the one meeting them. Well, the elf anyway.

“You know, I’d love for you to meet my friend Henry,” said Takato. “He loves playing video games that I think might have been based on your world somehow.”

“Terriermon too!” chimed in Guilmon.

“Er, well…” started Takato, scratching the back of his head. “Well, Terriermon might cause a bit too much trouble. But he certainly would have lightened up the situation back there a bit.” Takato laughed a bit thinking of Henry’s rabbit-like partner. It was very likely that at this exact moment, Henry was worried about Takato’s disappearance and Terriermon was saying “Momentai” every five minutes, assuring Henry that Takato was fine. Even though he wasn’t.

At the “feminine area” Takato immediately thought of Jeri and became saddened for a moment before Legolas showed him the pools. He made up his mind to come use one of the hot-tubs later, and after another moment of internal decision making, decided to being Guilmon as well, despite the trouble the dino might cause. Takato really wanted to use one of the tubs, and didn’t want to get separated from Guilmon until he knew exactly what was going on. He trusted Legolas, but he hadn’t yet gotten to meet the other guests, so he wanted to stay on the safe side.

“And Guilmon would enjoy it, too,” thought Takato.

“Yeah, and believe me, those smaller ones can REALLY help you relax…” said Takato. “If you haven’t tried it, make sure you do sometime. It’s really nice once you get used to it.”

"Perhaps your friend Henry will come through the portal as well. That way you and Guilmon will not be alone." Legolas smiled, "Henry may show me these video games then, or you." He gave a gentle sigh, "Part of me wishes that my friends would come, but another part knows that they are far too important in my world to go missing for long. Except Gimli." His lips twisted into a half smirk, "He is not wanted for much, but his for his talk." Of course Takato would probably not get the joke. Legolas looked at Takato, "He is a good friend of mine, even if he is a dwarf."

As Takato talked about the small boiling pools of water, Legolas nodded, "I shall have to see what those waters can do for me. Perhaps one day when I no longer have the itch to explore this place and may sit for a while." He smiled, "For now, this structure is just far too intriguing to enjoy sitting for long." He moved out of the room, showing the male's den on the other side, the dining room and storage closets.

Legolas then mounted the stairs, silently, so as to not disturb those still in the foyer. "Come." He murmured with a smile. The rooms up here are beauty." He moved on up the stairs and turned to the music room. "These are instruments of pleasure, music, I presume? I recognize some." The harp he ran his fingers lightly across, making the strings up with a pretty melody. He stopped and smiled, "Elves like music, but we prefer singing over instruments." He lifted a shoulder, "Of course, it is mainly our own voices that we listen to."

Standing he walked around the room, looking again at all the instruments. Making his way back around tot he door, he paused for a moment, "Do you play anything?" He motioned to the room, encompassing each instrument in the gesture. "If not, perhaps I can teach you one I know as well. They are quite relaxing, much like the waters of the Sindar."
